All Is Calm- The Christmas Truce of 1914
The Arts and Culture Commission presents a night of theatre with Peppermint Creek Theatre Company. All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 will come to the Community and Cultural Center stage on December 14th, 2025.
PLOT: A remarkable true story from the Western Front, Christmas, 1914. In a silence amid the combat, a soldier steps into No Man’s Land singing “Silent Night.” All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 relives an astounding moment in history when Allied troops and German soldiers laid down their arms to celebrate the holiday together, sharing food and drink, playing soccer, and singing carols. This dramatic retelling weaves together firsthand accounts of 30 World War I soldiers with patriotic tunes, trench songs, and Christmas carols.
Though there is no violent or obscene content, themes of war are prevalent in this production. All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 is recommended for those over eight years old. The production is 90 minutes long with no intermission.
Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance. Veterans receive FREE admission to this program, but must call City Hall at 810-629-2261 to obtain their ticket in advance of the performance.
